Due to cutbacks by the Government there is no longer any facility in Cyprus for dealing with passports.  For uptodate information please go to UK Passports. The collection of passports will still be carried out by DHL.

The main DHL Office is in Lefkosa on the industrial estate.  Coming from Kyrenia, turn left at the big roundabout in Lefkosa ( as though you were going to Famagusta or Ercan).  Continue for approx 1 mile and you will see a Mercedes dealership on the left. Take the first left after the dealership, then first left then second right.  If lost ring 0392-2256828 or 2256954.  Ask for Aydinet.

There is a DHL service point in Girne at Cafe Boss, 4 Agustos Sok, Girne.  Agustos Sok is the street where the main HSBC branch is on the corner. All courier forms & packaging are provided by Cafe Boss.   It costs 38 Euros and takes about 3/4 weeks for return.
( Cash only Please but TL can be used at the exchange rate applicable at the time) For details ring Steve or Rowena on 0533-8718213 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . In addition any UK parcels can be sent there as it has its own TRNC postcode.

The passport is returned to the High Commission Office in Lefkosa.  They will ring to advise you when you can collect.  Directions to BHC is shown on the following link High Commission Location

It is recommended that you copy the residency page in your passport and the page with your photo and details as a safeguard.  You must also request the return of your old passport.

How long does it take?

Your application will take at least 4 weeks from when it’s received by the Identity and Passport Service (IPS) in the UK. Applications may take longer if the IPS needs to ask you for more information or the documents and photographs you send are rejected.

Don’t book travel until you have a valid passport. If you need to travel more urgently, apply for an Emergency Travel Document.
